James IV was born on 17 March 1473. He died on 9 September 1513 during the [[Battle of Flodden]]. He became King of Scotland in the year 1488 and at that time he was only 15 years old. His father was [[James III]], who was killed in the [[Battle of Sauchieburn]] in 1488, succeeded by his son. | |||
