Protagonist of the sitcom Blackadder played by Rowan Atkinson. The sitcom itself is situated from the 15th until the early 20th century and as the centuries change also the character of Blackadder changes.
The most obvious change lies in Blackadder's social status. In season one he's part of the royal family and almost manages to become king. In season two he's a Lord, in season three he's a servant to the Prince Regent George (Hugh Laurie) and in season four he's a Captain of the British Army. Throughout the whole series he's accompanied by his sidekick Baldrick.
