Bundling

From British Culture

A courtship practice in early modern England. The suitor and his prospective wife were allowed to stay up all night at the woman’s place. Bundling could consist of talking, of exchanging kisses, but it could also involve sexual intercourse (Stone 9); before this, the partners had agreed to get married, though.
